Attend Reading

Portland has a robust literary scene. Poets, fiction writers, memoirists, and every other type of writer either lives in Portland or passes through one of its many independent bookstores--Powell's, for example. You are required to attend at least one of author reading per semester and write an informal report of your attendance. I will share Google Docs with you to use for composing your report. You do not need to print and submit them to me--I’ll already have access to them. Length: 300-400 words.
Who was the reader? What did they read? What left an impression on you? What didn’t you like? How did it relate to your own writing or what we’re learning in class? Take a photo with your phone and paste it into your report. This is part of the “Portfolio” category which, during the first semester, is worth 20% of your final grade.
